Paintless Dent Repair Benefits

Paintless dent repair offers several benefits over traditional auto body repair:

• Costs less.
• Requires less time and inconvenience. Your car won’t end up sitting in a repair shop for days or even weeks.
• No painting, means no color-matching problems, no overspray from sitting in an auto body shop and no waiting for the paint to dry completely before you can wash or wax your vehicle.
• No patch work or re-painting, which can lower the value of your vehicle.
• Lower insurance bills. Many repairs cost less than your deductible. You can pay for repairs out of pocket, so you don’t have to report minor collisions to your insurance company.

Paintless Dent Repair Drawbacks

Paintless dent repair is not the ideal solution for every situation. In some cases, such as the following, conventional repair may be required:

• Paint is cracked, scratched, or scraped.
• The dent is on or near a reinforced area, making the dent inaccessible.
• The dent is present on a plastic bumper. If the plastic is stretched out or the bumper’s mounting tabs are torn or broken, replacing the bumper may be the only option. In some cases, I may be able to heat up the plastic and work out the dent.

Caution:Whenever somebody works on your car, there’s at least a slim chance that they can damage your car inadvertently in some way. The same is true during paintless dent repair. Damage rarely occurs, but paint, window glass, door panels, interiors or hardware could be damaged in the process.
